ETC Introduces Another Innovation In Bulk Steam Sterilizer Technology: “Sectional Autoclaves”

The “Sectional Autoclave” grew out of a need by our customers to replace older, bulk-sized autoclaves that were virtually land locked within their facilities. Replacing the units with a conventional one-piece autoclave of the same size would have been extremely costly and disruptive to facility operations. ETC designs its “Sectional Autoclaves” in 2 or more pieces, depending upon access through the facility and/or elevator weight capacities. The “Sectional Autoclave” can be provided with any of our three door configurations: Hinged Swinging Doors, Horizontal Sliding Doors, and Vertical Rising Doors.
How We Do It / Sectional Autoclaves

The autoclave is manufactured at our factory in two or more sections, fit up, insulated, sheathed, and assembled with all mechanical equipment & controls.

Additional lifting lugs and feet are installed on each section to facilitate handling. After the assembly is completed, the equipment is stripped down to the bare chamber sections, flipped onto its side for placement on the transport vehicle and the remaining equipment crated. At the site, the sections are offloaded and rigged through the facility to the final installation site.

The sections are up-righted, positioned and fit up within the pit, as applicable. An independent A/I (Authorized Inspector) witnesses the initial fit up, final welding, and hydro-static (compressed air for upper levels) testing to the current requirements of the ASME Pressure Vessel Code. Upon completion of the pressure testing, the insulation, sheathing, mechanical equipment & controls are re-installed. The autoclave is then interconnected to the facility as a normal unit, with bio-seal connection, sheet metal fascias, and hook-up of facility utilities, as applicable.

The autoclaves are PLC controlled with advanced user interface providing flexibility of cycle programming and visually intuitive cycle selection.

The system is configured for immediate sensor response for time temperature and pressure set-point management and maintains a real time record of all critical cycle parameters and phases including cycle alarms in the event of utility loss or instrumentation monitoring events.

The units are configured for use in pass-through or single sided operation and are available with a wide variety of accessory components and load handling materials.

Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) Sterilization Systems Group announced today that it has been awarded a contract, valued at approximately $4 million, for three industrial Ethylene Oxide (EtO) Sterilization Systems.

The EtO Systems, which will be delivered to a major multi-national corporation, include material handling systems, emissions control systems and our newly developed advanced predictive maintenance software features for the ETC PRO-GENESIS™ Advantage™ control system.

ETC’s Sterilization Service Group Awarded Upgrade Contracts

Southampton, PA, October 21, 2010. Environmental Tectonics Corporation’s (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) Sterilization Service Group today announced the award of upgrade contracts with two companies in the pharmaceutical industry. ETC’s Service Group performs retrofits, upgrades and maintenance services and sells spare and replacement parts for most of ETC’s operating divisions.

One contract involves two competitor’s sterilizers located in a facility in New Jersey. This project includes a full mechanical, piping and major components overhaul and installation of a new control system. Installation, start-up and training services will be provided.

The other contract includes a control upgrade for two ETC sterilizers located in a facility in the far Northeast. This long-standing ETC customer has purchased numerous sterilizers over many years.

Chris Ciesielka, ETC’s Service Manager, stated, “ETC has a long established service department with the flexibility to work on both ETC and our competitor’s equipment. The contract calls for three industrial EtO Systems, sophisticated material handling systems, emissions control systems and validation consulting work. The contract value exceeds US $3.5 million.
